William (Bill) Perez, started his Landfill Gas (LFG) career with Getty Synthetic Fuels (GSF) in 1979. He worked his way up the ranks and during his 10 years with the company held positions as, test technician and field construction supervisor, installing and repairing LFG collection systems throughout the U.S. In 1989 he joined Solar Turbines as their LFG recovery manager and was responsible for providing LFG to Solar’s five plants in the U.S. In 1992 he joined Pacific Energy and was part of the development of a new subsidiary, Landfill Control Technologies or Landtec. He worked for Landtec developing products and as a regional sales manager until 1995 when he went to work for Organic Waste Technologies (OWT) establishing their Mid-Atlantic office in Richmond, VA. He continued to work for OWT as the company became part of EMCON; EMCON was later purchased by the IT Corporation and eventually became part of Shaw Environmental. He left Shaw in 2005 to own and operate his own business in Hawaii. He returned to California and joined Landtec, as there Business Development Manager in 2008. In 2012 he joined SCS Field Services where he is currently a Project Manager in the Nashville Region.
Bill was inducted into SWANA’s Hall of Flame in 2002 for his work on subsurface fires.
